This month we look at the opening of PizzaRev’s 41st location in Thousand Oaks, planned commercial development at the 26-acre LA Time’s printing plant near the Arts District, and spotlight Ventura County office suites at Moorpark’s Condor Corporate Center.
41st Pizza Rev Opens in Thousand Oaks, CA
Thousand Oaks is the latest California neighborhood to join the PizzaRev-olution with the opening of PizzaRev’s 41st location at The Oaks Mall. PizzaRev brings the Chipotle fast-casual restaurant model to pizza lovers by empowering them to “Craft Their Own” pie. Customers choose from fresh toppings, homemade dough (including gluten-free) and sauce, and artisanal cheeses for a deliciously personalized experience.
Additionally, the Thousand Oaks location is the first to introduce the self-serve “iPourIt” system, which allows guests to pour their own beer (featuring 10 craft beer selections from local breweries) and wine.
H.W. Holmes, Inc. and the Design Development Group teamed to create the structure, its inviting interior, and spacious patio. TriMark R.W. Smith’s Design & Build division provided and installed all kitchen equipment and supplies. Their modern state-of-the-art appliances, stainless steel countertops and cabinetry, shelving, glass racks, and partitions helped create an elegant interior different from most “pizza shops.”
PizzaRev marked the location’s grand opening with free pizza for 1,700 guests and a fundraising benefit for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Harridge Development Group Buys 26-Acre LA Times Plant for Planned Development
The Real Deal reports that a partnership fronted by the Harridge Development Group has purchased the 26-acre LA Times printing plant at 2000 East 8th Street from Tribune Media’s real estate arm.
The site, just south of the Arts District, has seven acres said to be immediately developable. Developers plan to build normal everyday retail (think Walgreens) and a mid-level grocery store on these acres. As of right now, residential units, high-end retail, and hotels aren’t in the plans. It is also noted that several buildings on the site still print newspapers and are leased to the LA Times’ publisher (tronc) through 2023.
The barrage of land grabs in this area can be attributed to the Art District’s development growth. Developers attracted to this neighborhood are pushing projects farther south to fill out areas and erase borders. (READ MORE)
